A body has been found today in the hunt for a missing Ashford man.

Kent Police have called off the search for Kenneth Taylor after the discovery in woodland this morning.

The 72-year-old was last seen on Wednesday in Chilham, near Canterbury, where he met a friend for coffee.

Police found a body believed to be that of Mr Taylor in woodland close to nearby Old Wives Lees at just after 9am today.

A spokesman said the death is not being treated as suspicious. Formal identification has not yet taken place.

Police had issued an appeal for help in finding Mr Taylor yesterday, describing him as "vulnerable".
