Kent commuters faced long delays on the M20 after a motorcyclist was involved in a crash with two cars this morning.

The biker was taken to King's College Hospital, in London, after the smash on the London-bound carriageway between J9 for Ashford and J8 for Leeds Castle.

It happened at around 7.15am and heavy congestion built quickly in both directions into the morning rush-hour.

A 53-year-old man, who was driving a blue Honda motorbike, is believed to have suffered a broken leg.

It is believed the bike was involved in a smash with a BMW and a white Peugeot 206.

Kent Highways said a rolling road block was put in place and it was taking motorists around 35 minutes to drive the stretch.

Two lanes of the London-bound carriageway were shut, along with one lane of the coast-bound carriageway.

The motorway was fully open again by around 8.45am.
