Abusive 999 calls: Mark Barrrow from Ashford jailed

A man who made more than 50 abusive 999 calls to the police was jailed for 30 days after committing the offence while he was subject to a conditional discharge.

Mark Barrow, of Hardinge Road in Ashford town centre, made the threatening calls from a mobile phone and from public telephone boxes between February and April this year.

He was already subject to the conditional discharge after causing criminal damage to property with racially aggravated intent in November last year.

The 50-year-old served a 30 day spell behind bars while he awaited his appearance before Folkestone magistrates last week.

He was ordered to pay £115 to fund victim services, but no restraining order was imposed because of his mental health issues.
