Argos has moved to the Sainsbury's store in Ashford - leaving a gaping hole in the town centre.
The catalogue chain switched to the Bybrook supermarket earlier this week following a merge between the two brands.
It means its former store in New Rents - one of the biggest in the town centre - is now boarded up.
Since Sainsbury's bought Argos for £1.4 billion in 2016, between 150 and 200 Argos stores have been earmarked to move into nearby supermarkets.
There are currently no plans to change Ashford's second Argos branch on the Ashford Retail Park.
Cllr Graham Galpin, Ashford Borough Council’s portfolio holder for the town centre, says the empty space in New Rents has potential.
He said: "It is a very large unit and the owners have a number of options.
"It could be separated and made into smaller units, be used for entertainment or even housing - it's completely up to the owner.
"I strongly feel that the town needs to be fun, I would like to see whatever goes there provides entertainment."
