Ashford: Arrest after boy, 16, rushed to hospital following 'stabbing' in Oak Tree Road

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a boy was stabbed in the back in Ashford.

Police were called to a property in Oak Tree Road between 10.50pm and 11pm on Friday.

The 16-year-old boy suffered a serious injury to his back and is in a stable condition in hospital.

Officers arrested a 17-year-old boy from the town on suspicion of assault on Saturday.

PC Gemma Simpson said: "During a disturbance at the address a 16-year-old boy from the Ashford area suffered a serious injury to his back consistent with a stab wound.

"He was taken to a local hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

"We have since carried out a number of inquiries and spoken to witnesses.

"We believe there was a large group of people at the scene when the reported assault took place and are now appealing for anyone else who may of witnessed the incident to get in touch."

The 17-year-old has been released on bail until Thursday, October 12 pending further inquiries.
