Occupants flee as blaze engulfs mobile home on Shirkoak Park residential site near Woodchurch

A mobile home was destroyed in a blaze on a residential park near Woodchurch in the early hours of this morning.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire after they were called to Shirkoak Park at 3.45am.

The occupants had already managed to escape before two fire crews arrived at the scene.

Firefighters used hose reels and a main jet on the blaze.

They surrounded the fire to prevent it spreading to a neighbouring mobile home.

By 4.32am, they had put out the fire and were damping down. No one was injured.

The mobile home was destroyed and an adjoining mobile home suffered 20% damage.

A car also suffered minor damage. The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
