Police discover man's body in woodland near Hothfield, Ashford

A man's body has been found in woodland near Hothfield.

Police were called to the wooded site near the A20 at 10.20am yesterday, where they discovered the body.

Ambulance crews were also called to the grim scene, just opposite the Station Road turning on Ashford Road.

Witnesses say they saw numerous emergency vehicles in the village, including forensic teams.

Police say the death is being treated as non-suspicious and a report is being put together for the coroner.

One resident said crews were there for 'quite a few hours' and added: "We saw them searching the area with gloves on."

An ambulance spokesman confirmed one ambulance car attended the scene and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
