Driver hits tree in crash on A252 near Chilham

The A252 has now been reopened in both directions after a crash involving a driver hitting a tree.
 
The woman driver is said to have suffered multiple injuries after her car struck the tree between Soleshill Road and Pound Lane in Chilham just before 4pm.
 
Traffic is now easing after the crash, with firefighters using specialist cutting equipment to free the woman from her smoking car.

Emergency services have been at the crash site, near to Dane Court Farm.
 
Official reports earlier said the crash involved several vehicles, including a bus.
