Ashford: Emergency services called to crash on A2070 near Barrey Road

There are major tailbacks following a crash at a junction branded a "death trap" by motorists.

Police, paramedics and firefighters have been at the scene on the A2070 at the Sevington Retail Park exit in Ashford.

Three cars were involved in the collision but no serious injuries have been reported.

The crash happened near the junction with Barrey Road and motorists say the road is blocked in both directions.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to a reported three car collision in Bad Munstereifel Road, Ashford, at 4.35pm on Thursday 1 June 2017.

"It is reported to have taken place near the junction with Barry Way and the road is currently blocked.

"At present, there are no reports of any serious injuries."

Hundreds of worried workers and residents earlier signed a petition calling for traffic lights at the junction.

"The South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue Service were also called and a road closure has been enforced.

Workers at the Ashford Retail Park and industrial estate in Sevington say the turning into the A2070 Bad Munstereifel Road has become a nightmare.
