A251 Faversham Road blocked in both directions

A woman was cut free from her car after it crashed and overturned in the early hours.

Police closed the A251 Faversham Road in both directions after the accident at around 6am.

Firefighters cut out the back seats of the car and placed the woman on a long board before she was removed from the vehicle via the boot.

She was then treated by paramedics, but is not thought to have been seriously hurt.

There was slow traffic between the A252 at Challock and Shottenden Road, Badlesmere throughout rush hour.

The route has since reopened.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 6.06am to a report of a collision involving one vehicle near Canterbury Road, Challock.

"Officers attended along with SECAmb and Kent Fire and Rescue Service and one person was taken to a local hospital with injuries not believed to be serious.

"The road was closed while the incident was dealt with and it was reopened at around 8am."
