A car that crashed in Bethersden Road, Shadoxhurst, Ashford, on Wednesday was set on fire last night

A car that crashed in Shadoxhurst earlier this week was set alight last night.

Firefighters were called to Bethersden Road at 9.10pm and spent 45 minutes putting out the flames that had engulfed the VW Golf.

Police said the car had crashed into a ditch at 6.45pm on Wednesday and had been left there as it was not causing an obstruction.

No one was hurt in either the crash or the fire and police said they would not be investigating.
