Cyclist injured in A2070 crash in Ashford rushed to hospital

A cyclist was rushed to hospital after a rush-hour crash with a car in Ashford.

The man, who is in his 60s, suffered head, neck and chest injuries when he collided into the car on the A2070 near Kingsnorth.

Paramedics were called shortly before 5.30pm yesterday.

Police were also sent to the scene and officers closed the road while the man was given treatment.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance Service said: "We sent two cars and one ambulance to the scene.

"The cyclist was injured. He was a man aged in his 60s who had suffered possible chest and neck injuries.

"He was still concious but was treated at the scene before being taken to William Harvey Hospital as a priority.

"He had a head wound but was conscious and breathing throughout."

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
