Aylesford delivery drivers get naked in memory of Ashford man Mark Boulton

A group of delivery drivers bared all in memory of their friend when they posed naked for a charity calendar.

Twelve tongue-in-cheek photos, featuring some unusual fashion accessories, have been turned into a Calendar Boys keepsake being sold in aid of Pilgrims Hospices, which cared for Ashford driver Mark Boulton.

Each risqué snap is themed around the model’s own hobby with items such as a cycle helmet, a football scarf and a bird feeder complete with toy squirrels hiding the men’s modesty.

Mark’s wife Gill Boulton was delighted with the effort from Mark’s colleagues, who work in the transport division of the Waitrose Distribution Centre in Aylesford.

She said: “It was one of Mark’s wishes to raise as much money as possible for Pilgrims Hospices. I’m sure Mark would have loved the humour in the calendar.

“The family are grateful to all the Waitrose staff for their support in making this calendar happen. What a fantastic tribute it is to the affection they all felt for Mark. Now we just need everybody to buy the calendar!”

Mark’s father Cliff added: “After seeing the calendar, I can unashamedly admit it brought tears to my eyes. The knowledge that so many of his colleagues still remember Mark with affection fills me with pride.

“Although I haven’t felt the need to use the services of the hospice since Mark’s death, I know that Pilgrims is always there for me. It is a very special place.”

The calendar idea was dreamt up by Nottingham Forest FC fan and Mr July Steve Budd, who said: “Mark was a good friend to us all and we miss him a lot. Its shows how special he was. He was just a nice bloke, liked by everyone.”

Photos were taken by Pat Gale and the calendar, officially unveiled at Pilgrims Hospices in Ashford on Monday, was designed by Brien Toone.

Pilgrims Hopsices’ regional fundraising manager Nigel Donkin said: “Clearly anything the WI can do, Waitrose Transport Division can do better! “The calendar has created a real buzz of interest around the hospice and orders are flowing in. I would like to add my thanks to Gill’s for everything the Waitrose team has done this year for us.”

Calendars cost £10 and can be bought from Pilgrims Hospice in Hythe Road, Ashford, or by calling 01233 504111 and paying postage.
