Driver, 51, dies after crashed with Scania lorry on A259 in New Romney

An investigation is under way after a driver died when their car ended up on the wrong side of the A259 in New Romney.

The red Citroen Xsara Picasso was travelling along the Dymchurch Road towards New Romney when it crossed the central white line directly into the path of a blue Scania lorry.

The 51-year-old driver from New Romney died at the scene.

The driver and passenger in the lorry were not injured, and the road was reopened by 12.30am.
