Kent v Yorkshire: England cricket stars Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Tim Bresnan and Liam Plunkett seen in Ashford Nando's with Yorkshire squad

England cricket stars bowled over diners after they were spotted ahead of their crucial quarter-final date in Kent yesterday.

Test players Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow returned to the Yorkshire Vikings side for the Royal London One Day Cup match against Kent Spitfires.

The night before, diners at the Nando's restaurant in Ashford were treated to see the players in real life as the squad enjoyed a team meal before the big game in Canterbury yesterday.

The Vikings - also made up of fellow England internationals Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Adam Lyth and Tim Bresnan - ran out winners as the Spitfires fell just 11 runs short of the winning line.

Cricket fans saw the Yorkshire squad in the restaurant who are believed to have been staying in the town.

Max Campbell, who is Canterbury CC 1XI captain and also plays for Wye CC, said it was "bad timing" as they were leaving just as he arrived and held the door open for the squad but was unable to grab any photos with the players.
