Ashford fire crews called to Speldhurst Close, in Stanhope, after Mégane catches fire

A fire has left the inside of a Renault Mégane completely gutted.

Fire crews from Ashford attended the blaze in Speldhurst Close, in Stanhope, at 4.30am.

The interior of the car has been badly damaged by the flames, and the front windows smashed.

It is understood the fire was caused by faulty wiring.

Crews were at the scene for around 45 minutes.
