Lane shutdowns and traffic near-halt after accident on coastbound M20, Junction 10

Traffic has been brought to a near-halt on a motorway after an accident.

Two lanes were closed and movement is very slow on the remaining lane on the M20 at Ashford.

It follows a two-car accident just before 5.15pm today on the coastbound side near Junction 10.

Lanes two and three were closed and police and paramedics were at the scene.

One of the lanes was re-opened by 6.35pm.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “Kent Police received a report of a collision involving two cars on the coastbound M20 near Junction 10 at 5.13pm.”

Traffic has had to held up to remove affected vehicles and allow for the eventual reopening of the entire stretch of road.

One of the lanes was re-opened by 6.35pm and the road did fully reopen until around 7.15pm.
