The M20 motorway has partially reopened London-bound between junctions 9 and 8 following a crash and car fire this morning

The London-bound M20 has been partially reopened between junctions 9 and 8 following a crash and a car fire during this morning's rush hour.

At least two lorries and a car were involved in the collision at 6.40am and one car caught light after leaving the road, according to Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

Firefighters were initially told there were people trapped in the blazing vehicle and crews wearing breathing apparatus tackled the flames.

However, no casualties were discovered and the fire was out within an hour.

One lane remains closed while emergency services make the area safe.
