A man has been released without charge following reports of an assault on a woman in Ashford.

Police were called to Heathfield Road early on Tuesday morning to a report a woman had been assaulted.

A 23-year-old man from Folkestone was arrested in connection with the incident which happened between 5am and 5.30am.

One witness said three police cars were called to the road.

The man was released without charge, police today confirmed.
