A man has died after being crushed under a 4x4 vehicle at Bethersden yesterday.

The 36-year-old was killed in the accident at Bethersden Business Centre, in the village near Ashford.

Emergency services - including paramedics, police and fire crews - were called to the scene at 3.25pm.

But despite the best efforts of medics, the man died at the scene.

Kent Air Ambulance said the man suffered head and thorax injuries.

South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman Rich Airey said: "We attended with two ambulances and called the air ambulance and the Hart team (hazardous area response team).

"They all worked together, but the man had serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene."
