Man medically treated after house fire in Lancaster Close, Hamstreet

A man had to be treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire.

Fire services raced to the property last Thursday, at around 8pm, after reports of a fire in Lancaster Close, Hamstreet.

It is believed that the fire broke out in the kitchen after a grill was accidentally switched on, a frying pan that had been placed under it then caught alight. The fire created thick smoke and flames.

Two fire engines attended the scene and removed the items that were alight to the garden of the property.

They also gave first aid to the man, who was treated for the effects of breathing in smoke, before he was passed in the care of SECAmb.
