Investigations have begun after a man's body was found in a drainage ditch.
Kent Police were called at 3.50pm yesterday after it was found in water off Church Lane, New Romney.
The body was recovered with the help of crews from Kent Fire and Rescue Service.
It is believed to be that of a local man in his 40s and his family have been told.
Police say the death is not being treated as suspicious, but remains unexplained. A post mortem examination will be carried out.
Formal identification of the man is due to take place.
