Police investigate after man dies on tracks near Pluckley

A man has died after being struck by a train near Pluckley.

British Transport Police and Kent Police were called at 7.25pm last night to reports a man had been struck by a train close to Pluckley rail station.

Ambulance medics were also called out, but the man was declared dead at the scene. The death is being treated as non-suspicious.

The train was the 6.08pm service from Cannon Street heading to Margate. The line was handed back to Network Rail at around 9.30pm.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
