Witnesses sought to crash involving Mercedes A180 and cyclist at A2070, Kingsnorth

A cyclist has been seriously injured after he was involved in a crash when a white Mercedes A180 was reported to have overtaken a lorry.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision on the A2070 at Kingsnorth near Ashford, at around 7.40pm on Wednesday.

A man in his 60s was cycling towards Ashford when he was involved in the crash with the Mercedes, which was travelling in the direction of Hamstreet.

The cyclist was taken to a London hospital with serious injuries.

Anyone who saw the incident, or the Mercedes beforehand, is asked to call the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538 or emailing sciu.td@kent.pnn.police.uk quoting AW/MS/117/17.

Officers are also keen speak to the lorry driver who has not yet been traced.
