Teenagers arrested after alleged robbery in Ashford

Three teenagers have been arrested after a group of robbers allegedly struck twice in Ashford.

The first incident happened at Ashford Designer Outlet in Kimberley Way between 11am and 11.30am on Saturday (May 20).

Investigating officer Detective Constable Kirsty Bricknell said: "A group of youths approached a man and demanded he hand over his mobile phone and watch, but they made off empty-handed."

In the second incident, they approached a second man in a nearby underpass, threatened him and stole his mobile phone.

Three teenagers, two aged 17 and one aged 16, were arrested on a train to London later in the day yesterday on suspicion of robbery and attempted robbery.

The teenagers, all from the London area, have been bailed until June 10 while enquiries continue.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to the two incidents.
