Emergency services were called to an accident in Woodchurch this morning.

A car had flipped onto its side in a ditch at the junction of Appledore Road and the B2067.

The driver, an elderly man, was taken to hospital by ambulance. His injuries are not thought to be serious.

Ashford firefighter Mark Thomas said: “We’re not sure why or how the car came to be on its side.”

Police were called at 5.55am and alerted the fire and ambulance services.

The road was closed while the car was righted and moved.
