Fire crews called to Whitfeld Road, in Ashford, after second car in three days is set alight

A car fire in Ashford is being treated as suspicious.

Fire crews were called to Whitfeld Road at 3.45am today to a report a Rover was alight.

Up to 50% of the vehicle was destroyed by the flames.

Fire crews this morning confirmed the cause of the blaze is under investigation.

A spokesman for Kent Police added: "The fire has been reported to police and is currently being investigated."

This is the second car fire in the road in a week.

On Friday, fire crews were called to tackle a fire at 3am after a resident noticed flames from his house.
