Boy, 16, found stabbed near the fountain in Wellesley Road end of High Street, Ashford

Two men arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following the stabbing of a teenager have been released on bail.

A 16-year-old boy was found with multiple knife wounds in Ashford town centre in the early hours of the morning yesterday.

He was taken to a London hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries and today remains in a stable condition.

Following the incident, which happened near the fountain at the Wellesley Road end of the High Street at 2.40am, police arrested two men on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

They have now been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Officers are still appealing for anyone with information about the attack to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector Emma Banks said: "We are still trying to piece together exactly what happened and urge anyone who witnessed the incident or knows anything about it to contact us.

"We believe there may be one other injured person who has not yet contacted the emergency services, so we would also like to hear from this person or anyone else with information about them."
