15-year-old boy taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford after crashing a stolen motorcycle in Stanhope

A teenager was hospitalised and subsequently arrested, following a crash in Ashford yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to Stanhope Road at 5.06pm, following reports of a crash between a motorcycle and a Nissan Navara.

Secamb were called and a 15 year-old male who had been riding the motorcycle was taken to the William Harvey Hospital with head injuries, which were not believed to be serious.

Checks by officers showed the motorcycle to be stolen.

The youth riding the motorcycle was arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.
