They're in the running

London Marathon runners
London Marathon runners

Scores of runners from our area are making their final preparations to take part in this Sunday's London Marathon.

Most will be pounding the streets of the capital to raise money for a charity dear to their heart or in memory of a loved one.

The issue of the Kentish Express out tomorrow (Thursday) contains a special four-page London Marathon feature, highlighting runners from our patch and who they are running for.

We appealed for runners to contact and we were inundated with responses so we have tried to include as much detail as we can on each runner and a picture wherever possible.

They range from teenagers to pensioners and from firefighters to teachers.

Some are aiming for a specific time, others will just be pleased to get cross the finish line.

In next week's paper (the issue of April 26th) we will be carrying another article letting readers know how the runners from our patch get on.

With that in mind we are asking all Marathon runners to get in touch with us as soon as they can after Sunday's run and let us know how it went.

So runners, if you would like to see your achievement featured in that follow-up story please either call our newsroom next Monday (April 23rd) on 01233 623232 or email the details to kentishexpress@thekmgroup.co.uk

To try and keep this post race process as simple as possible please supply us with the following details - your full name, age, address, contact phone number, which charity you were running for, how much you have raised (or hope to raise) and your finish time.

Also, free to include a comment or two about your London Marathon race day experience (but please keep these comments as brief as possible) and if you have any pictures taken of you on the run or at the start/finish line please feel free to attach them to your response.

Good luck to all our runners!
