Warehorne: Crash on A2070 southbound near Hamstreet

A main road was closed for more than six hours after three vehicles caught fire following a crash.

Police officers and fire crews were called to the incident on the A2070 at about 12.40pm near Brenzett.

No injuries have been reported.

Highways England reported the fire had been extinguished and recovery was complete shortly before 7pm.

It had been closed in both directions between the A2042 near Ashford and the A259 for Brenzett.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called to the A2070, Brenzett at 12.43pm following a report of a road traffic collision.

"Three vehicles were reported to be on fire. Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene.

"No one was reported to have been injured in the incident."
