Ronnie Argle of Ashford arrested and charged with grooming after confrontation by vigilante group

A 40-year-old man has been arrested and charged with grooming after a confrontation involving a vigilante group.

Ronnie Argle, from Kingsnorth, Ashford, was arrested by police following the incident last night, in which a man was approached and questioned by two women from a group of so-called 'paedophile hunters'.

Argle has been charged with three counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates' Court today via video link.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police officers arrested a 40-year-old man in Ashford on Thursday, November 23, on suspicion of grooming.

"Ronnie Argle has been charged with three counts of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child and is due to appear at Medway Magistrates Court via video link.

"He remains in custody and inquiries are ongoing."
