Lorry loses trailer on roundabout near Ashford International Truck Stop, Sevington, near junction 10 of the M20

If you think you're having a bad day, spare a thought for this lorry driver who lost the vehicle's trailer while going round a roundabout.

The mishap happened as the lorry left the Ashford International Truck Stop in Sevington, Ashford, not far from junction 10 of the M20, just before 1.30pm.

Police officers arrived to help the embarrassed driver fix the problem and warned other lorry drivers to make sure they attached their trailers properly.

A team of police officers from Ashford tweeted: "Remember to hitch your trailers securely, this could have been a lot worse."

Meanwhile the Roads Policing Unit, which deals with traffic incidents, confirmed the accident was not causing any major hold-ups, although one lane is blocked.

A police spokesman said a specialist recovery firm had been called to assist.
