A YOUNG woman has been left seriously injured after a cliffside fall in Folkestone.

She is thought to have tumbled about 12ft down the cliffside of The Road of Remembrance in Folkestone and landed on a lower path.

The 24-year-old is reported to have suffered head, back and leg injuries.

Paramedics were called to the accident at 12.10am on Saturday, followed by police.

A police spokesman said: "A passer-by reported that a woman was lying injured on a footpath near The Road of Remembrance.

"Officers have made inquiries and it is believed that the young woman may have fallen as she was on her way home."

The victim was first taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford and is then understood to have been transferred to a London hospital.
