A 20-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash on Thursday has been named.

Jack Elliot Huckle from Ramsgate came off his bike near the Ashford Designer Outlet at about 10.10am.

Medics battled to save the young rider's life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency services were called to the A2042 Romney Marsh Road after the orange Triumph Daytona motorbike crashed.

The man had come off his bike, the only vehicle involved, on the Ashford-bound carriageway.

South East Coast Ambulance Service sent two ambulances and a response car to the accident.

But despite the best efforts of paramedics, the young motorcyclist died at the scene.

Police officers closed the dual carriageway in both directions between the B2229 Norman Road and Malcolm Sargent Road until about 3.30pm.

There was a second accident on the other side of the road after a motorist stopped to help the biker and another vehicle hit their empty, stationary car.

A woman and three children suffered minor injuries and were taken to William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, as a precaution.
