Neil Cugley is urging Folkestone fans to turn out in force for Invicta’s final Ryman League Division 1 South game of the season against managerless Herne Bay on Saturday.

The Cheriton Road side must win against their Kent rivals to have any chance of finishing in the play-offs, after Leatherhead’s 1-0 win at Eastbourne Town on Wednesday, moved them above Invicta into fifth place.

The Surrey club host Faversham in their final game, starting two points above Invicta, with both clubs boasting an identical goal difference - plus 23.

Boss Cugley (pictured) said: "I want as many people to be there as possible, it’s going to be a big day for the club, and it could be a great one if we get into the play-offs."

He added: "I have been watching Leatherhead's results with interest, but am not one who rushes to find out how they get on. If they win their last two games I suppose they deserve to make it.

"Whatever will be, will be, we have done a great job be still involved, going into the last day."

Invicta have lost only three times in 23 league games, and Cugley said: "It has been a great achievement by the players, and I am proud of what they have done. We have put together a nice little squad, and I have looked forward to every game."

The play-off semi-finals take place next Tuesday, with the final set for Saturday week, May 4.
