A fourth successive Southern Counties East League postponement, against Lingfield on Tuesday – the second-call-off in as many weeks against the Surrey club – added another complication to the end-of-season fixture list, and means it’s more than a fortnight since Paul Chambers’ side last kicked a ball in anger – in a 3-1 win over Corinthian on February 10.

The two teams will try for a third time on Tuesday March 24.

United head to Eltham on Saturday to face bottom club Erith Town, now with former VCD and Erith & Belvedere manager Martin Ford and his son Joe in charge following their appointment earlier this month.

United begin March with a visit from runaway leaders Phoenix Sports next Tuesday (7.45pm
