Benefits Officer - 37 hours per week

Starting salary trainee grade D £17,781
Salary increases to £20,099 - £22,122 (Grade E) on successful completion of six months training - pay award pending

We are looking to appoint a Benefits Officer to deal with all aspects of processing applications for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit.

Experience of working in a Benefits environment, whilst not essential, would be highly advantageous.

The section currently uses the Academy Information System and the Valid Electronic Document Management System. Knowledge of these systems, whilst not essential, would be highly advantageous.

Although direct customer access is via our Gateway team you will be required to assist with our customers on a rota basis and you must therefore possess excellent customer care skills as well as being able to work as part of a team.

Tunbridge Wells Borough Council has a strong commitment to home working and once you have settled in to the team, consideration would be given to any request to work wholly or partly from home.
