A man suspected of a £3,000 raid on a garden store room was captured on the owner's CCTV cameras.

Property landlord Gerard Locsei-Campbell, who lives in Sarre near Hersden, has released footage which he says shows the thief in action.

Police are now looking to trace the man in connection with the burglary on Wednesday - which saw the theft of a Honda lawnmower, two hedge cutters, a strimmer, an Echo chainsaw and an Echo leaf blower.

Mr Locsei-Campbell said: "I only left the house briefly and unfortunately the store room wasn't locked.

"We have a half-acre garden with seven CCTV cameras and they show this guy clearly stealing the stuff.

"He knocked out one of the cameras covering our driveway, but obviously didn't see the other six..." - raid victim Gerard Locsei-Campbell

"He knocked out one of the cameras covering our driveway, but obviously didn't see the other six.

"There was quite a lot of equipment taken but I fear I may not be insured because the building wasn't secure."

Mr Locsei-Campbell has offered a £250 reward to anyone who provides the police with the suspect's name and a further £250 for the return of his equipment

The suspect is described as white, aged 40 to 45, of stocky build with grey cropped hair.

He was wearing a pale blue jumper, grey tracksuit bottoms and white trainers with two dark stripes on the side.

Anyone with information about his identity is asked to phone Sgt Darren Rumsey on 101, quoting reference ZY/14244/13, or Crimestoppers' anonymously on 0800 555111.
