Emergency crews have been called to a petrol station near Whitstable this morning after a car flipped onto its side.

Police, paramedics and two fire engines from Whitstable and Faversham were called to the Dargate services on the coastbound carriageway of the Thanet Way after the crash at 9.30am.

IT manager Ian West drove past the scene shortly afterwards.

He said: "As I went past police were coning off the entrance to the garage.

“There was a car that looked like it was turned onto its side. It looked like it had caught fire because bits of it were black.

“There was a fire engine coming in the other direction, but whether it was going there I don’t know."

Crews are still at the scene. It is not yet known if anyone was injured.
