Video of Orlando Bloom as Legolas uploaded by Hobbit and Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson and wins 7 million hits

Canterbury actor and Hollywood star Orlando Bloom has proved he has a sense of humour - by creating his own version of a spoof YouTube hit.

A comedy dance track starring his Lord of the Rings character Legolas has been viewed millions of times on the internet site.

And news of the hit clip clearly reached the studios where he was filming The Hobbit, with movie director Peter Jackson uploading his own video to YouTube this week.

It features former St Edmund's pupil Bloom singing over the spoof track while dressed as Legolas.

It has already proved a big hit in its own right - with more than seven million views.

The next Hobbit movie - the second of a trilogy - is released later this year.
