Comic Tony Law pulls out of Whitstable comedy show

Comic Tony Law has pulled out of a Whitstable comedy show due to take place next week.

The Canadian stand-up was billed to headline the Whitstable Comedy Show at the East Quay on Wednesday but has been replaced by Ben Norris.

Organiser Nick Wilty (above) said Mr Law will instead perform alongside fellow comedian Stewart Lee but hopes he will be in Whitstable later this year.

Mr Norris will be well known to comedy fans following appearances on TV panel shows Mock The Week and 8 out of 10 Cats.

Mr Wilty said: "Tony has had to pull the gig because he is performing live with Stewart Lee but we hope to get him either in October or November.

"Ben was my first choice replacement. He is a brilliant stand-up known to audiences on many TV shows."

The comedy show takes place at the East Quay on Wednesday, July 3. Tickets cost £12 on the door, £8 for concessions and £10 for members.

Female comic Mel O'Rourke is also booked to appear and Mr Wilty is due to compere the show.

He added: "Tickets are still available at Gatefield Sounds and Rock Bottom but they are selling out fast online."
