Teenagers questioned after reports they were seen with a handgun in Aylesham

Armed police were called to Aylesham Railway Station shortly after midday yesterday after reports youths were seen with a gun.

During a search of the station and train by officers and British Transport Police, an imitation firearm was discovered.

Three boys from Aylesham aged 14, 15 and 16 were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm in a public place.

They were taken into custody at Canterbury and were being questioned by officers. No one was injured during the incident.
