Meghan Markle to be baptised by Archbishop of Canterbury at Kensington Palace ahead of her marriage to Prince Harry

The Archbishop of Canterbury is set to baptise Meghan Markle later this month, reports say.

Justin Welby, who has almost served five years as the Church of England's most senior bishop, will conduct the service in Kensington Palace.

The news comes a month after it was announced the 62-year-old will marry the American actress and Prince Harry in May.

Miss Markle, 36, was raised a Protestant and attended a Catholic school as a child. She later married her former husband Trevor Engelson, who is Jewish.

Though she does not need to formally become an Anglican in order to marry the prince, it is believed she wants to do so out of respect for the Queen.
