He was to face six charges – but after behind-the-scenes discussions between prosecution and defence lawyers, Collier admitted two of them.

Prosecutor Christopher May said the Crown Prosecution Service had accepted the guilty pleas after consultations, including with the two victims.

Bearded Collier pleaded guilty that on April 13 2016 he assaulted a woman in Ashford Road, Chartham, causing her actual bodily harm.

He then admitted a charge under the 2003 Sexual Offences Act of assaulting a woman in June last year, intending to commit a sex offences.

Judge Rupert Lowe remanded him in custody for five weeks pending a report by a senior probation officer about just how dangerous he is.

Mr May said that next month the court will also be told details of a third woman who claims she was followed home by a man in a car.

No charges have been brought but defence barrister John Fitzgerald said Collier admitted driving the vehicle in August last year.

Judge Lowe urged the defendant to be “open and frank” with probation in discussing “everything which occurred.”

He added that while it may be difficult to talk about details “for obvious reasons” and it was “not in your interest to cover up or lie about anything which occurred”.

Mr Fitzgerald said Collier, was “of good character”, having only one previous conviction for drug dealing, supplying cannabis to family and friends.

He was remanded in custody pending sentence and as he was led away his family shouted: “We love you Trev” and “Look after yourself.”

The remaining four charges have been left on file and are expected to be dealt with at the next hearing.
