Canterbury motorcyclist dies after double crash in Stone Street near Petham

A motorcyclist has been killed in a horror smash after his bike crashed with two vehicles in a matter of seconds.

The 25-year-old, from Canterbury, was riding along Stone Street near Petham when he was in a collision with a white van - before being flung into a vehicle travelling the opposite way.

Police today confirmed he was pronounced dead at the scene yesterday afternoon. His next of kin has been informed.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at 2.45pm and the road was shut between Town Road and Hogg Lane.

Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Insp Martin Stevens said: "Both of the other vehicles involved stopped at the scene and there were no other people seriously hurt in the incident.

"Witnesses have been spoken to but no arrests have been made."
