Biker seriously injured in lorry crash outside Wingham Country Market

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash with a lorry in Wingham near Canterbury this morning.

It happened outside Wingham Country Market at 10.40am.

Kent Police closed the A257 between Wingham and Sandwich while the collision was investigated.

Kent Air Ambulance flew the biker to London's King's College Hospital, but the lorry driver was not hurt.

A crew from Kent Fire and Rescue Service has been at the scene to deal with a fuel spillage after the crash.

The road re-opened early this afternoon.
