Car lands in Canterbury ditch after swerving off Tannery roundabout in Rheims Way

A car swerved off the road at a busy Canterbury roundabout and landed in a ditch.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the roundabout near the Old Tannery development in Rheims Way at 10.15am yesterday.

The Nissan Micra was found stuck in bushes at the side of the road. It has been taped off by police.

Police spokesman Glenn Pearson said: "Kent Police was called at just after 10.15am to a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision in Canterbury.

"Officers attended Rheims Way after it was reported a beige Nissan Micra came off the road and ended up in a ditch, near a roundabout.

"The road was not blocked as a result of the collision."

One ambulance crew attended and paramedics treated the driver at the scene, but they did not need to be taken to hospital.
