Car crashed into wall in Bridge High Street

Police are hunting a driver who abandoned their car after it crashed into a wall.

Pictures emerged online showing the damage caused by the accident, which happened shortly at around 5.15pm in Bridge Hill, just off Bridge High Street.

Police were sent to the scene and a spokesman confirmed the driver of the vehicle was not around when they arrived.

Two patrol cars were sent to the scene and coned-off a section of the road while they carried out enquiries.

A police spokesman said: "This was not a firearms incident, however, armed officers on routine patrol did attend as they were already in the area."
