A2050 New Dover Road in Canterbury reopens after car crash

The A2050 New Dover Road in Canterbury has reopened after an overturned car closed the route this morning.

Police, ambulance and fire crews attended the scene of the incident, in which a woman was trapped inside a flipped vehicle.

The crash took place between the St Augustine's Road and St Lawrence Road turn-offs, and prevented vehicles from passing through the area.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called to New Dover Road, Canterbury at 8.33am following a report that a vehicle had overturned.

"Kent Fire and Rescue Service and South East Coast Ambulance Service were called to the scene.

"A woman was trapped in the vehicle, she was not reported to have been seriously injured and was removed from the car."

The road was cleared by police just before noon, and traffic now appears to be moving.
